Wii games - cheaper in the US? Are they compatible?

My friend is off to the US next week. It's DS's birthday in Sept, and he'd like a Wii Mario game. They're about £35 here. Are they cheaper in the US, and are they compatible? Off to bed now, but thanks in advance to anyone who answers.

Well I would be very interested in the answer to this one as am off to the States in 2 weeks and invested in a Wii only this weekend due to crap weather.
I do suspect they are not compatable though........

If you want to have a look at this wiki that I've just found for you "Look at this page" It might answer your question. Looks like in reality some games maybe compatible.

Thanks for that, alipiggie. Hmm, there seem to be too many games that may bugger up the machine. Whooosh, why don't you try it on your machine first and let me know how you get on?

Oh....ok then....

you rarely have to pay full price for them

Just shop around on the internet, someone will be selling them cheaper..

try

Amazon
play.com
tesco
game.co.uk
woolworths
sainburys

that is all I can think of for now but would be surprised if not cheaper than 35squid somewhere

by the way, if you do decide to shop abroad - don't forget to come back and tell us compatable
