looking to replace my hoover as it keeps overheating and stopping mid flow!!!!

Which report only seem to reccommend cylinder hoovers for some reason they think uprights are pants????

A couple of the dyson uprights did well IIRC? My mum has a dyson cylinder, wouldn't be my choice but then we have carpets and she has wood. I think they're quite hard work for doing big areas.

I'm going to get a miele cylinder for my upstairs though. I'm sick of falling downstairs with my upright.

Yep, I love it. Never got on with uprights. Have big house with lots of carpet. Cylinder much easier for stairs imo.

Not sure exactly which model. It is put away in its place in dark and gloomy cellar atm. It is plain grey in colour and one of the features was something to do with allergies - think it promises to pick up all dog/cat hair, handy as we have very moulty cat. It was in the mid price range for Dysons but we got it in a sale in Currys about 18 months ago only £80-£90, full price would have been £120ish I think. Wouldn't swap it for the world now I've got it.

I've got the original Dyson upright and it's got to be the best ever household item I have ever purchased!!! That said, I don't have stairs. It does come with an array of attachements though that would make stairs manageable but it's quite heavy so it would be a workout as well as a clean!!!
