Tricotti sling - any good?

So as far as I can tell it is basically 2 pouches, one on each shoulder? Is that right?
I used a ring sling for DD but could only wear her in it for a short time as my shoulders are not at their best, I find it much comfier with her in a wrap or mei tai so I am using both shoulders but I want a pouch type carrier for the new baby so I can BF easier (I never got the hang of BFing in a mei tai!)

Has anyone got one? are they any good? and can you use them in 2 bits if you want?!

I have a Dh like that to Chirpygirl.

Let me root it out and I will come back to you. I would like to check it out first for dodgy bits .

Kamikayzed - interesting that the medium was fine on you. I am a 34f too so not exactly small busted. How would you describe your neck to waist measurement??

Aitch · 19/08/2007 21:54

i'd give it another try, mrsfogi, i can't think why you thought the baby would suffocate if it was on properly, it leaves open space above the baby's face when it hangs.

Thanks kamimayzed, nice to hear from someone else who has one!

Thanks projecticarus, reading measurements on here though it might not work, I am a 40F before BFing, daren'ty think what it will change to after this one is born! Plus I have a very long body.....I shall measure myself if I ever find a tape measure in my pigsty of a house!

I am definately going to have to get one now though.....Dh is not going to thank you all!

Chirpygirl, what size are you going to order?
I tried several times to buy 1 from Ebay (you can get a 2nd hand one for 20pounds-ish) but kept getting outbidded. Now I think it was a good thing I didn't get it as I was about to order a Medium which I now think might be too big. I'm a sz 12 and pretty flat-chested (!) so think I should get a Small instead?
Anyone out there to verify this?

Chirpygirl · 20/08/2007 13:32

I will check measurements I think if Projecticarus doesn't mind before buying but I feel I may end up with a large (story of my life!)

I hate sites that just say what dress size they match instead of actual sizes, it's really annoying as I am a 20 in some shops but can fit into 16 in others...!

aha. Collar bone to waist is only 40cm here that must be why I found the medium a bit big.

I am also 61cm from outermost part of shoulder to side of waist. where the sling goes iykwim.

Greenday - collarbone to waist measurement?
Shoulder to side of waist? Remember the sling shouldn't hang below your tummy button to be most comfortable. That's when filled with baby obviously I suspect you will be a small though.

Chirpy - no hassles it isn't doing anything here anyway so just let me know.

greenday · 20/08/2007 14:05

Ah, that's good point, thank you PI - I am pretty high waisted as well. I'm about 35 - 38 cm from collarbone to waist / shoulder to side waist. So I'd be better off with Small.

CG - good luck! If my sarong sling doesn't work well, I'm definitely buying a tricotti and will let you know how it went. I'm about 2 mths ahead of you (due anytime now).

ProjectIcarus · 20/08/2007 14:12

erm the 61 is from one side to another in a diagonal stylee.

ProjectIcarus · 20/08/2007 14:15

These are fab
brightspark slings

greenday · 20/08/2007 14:16

Haha! Boggle no more! I've re-measured and I'm 55cm from shoulder to side of waist. Obviously I missed out on the diagonal measuring - duh!

ProjectIcarus · 20/08/2007 14:22

I loved my stretchy wrap for the first 3 to 4 months then I swapped to my mei tai. My pouches are still used to nipping in and out of shops/in the house quick carries but I do know people who use them all the time.

Luuurve my peerie and my coorie though.

Chirpygirl · 20/08/2007 16:21

Still can't find my tape measure, I remember DD was using it to measure her bra size after she saw me doing it so it could be anywhere!

Chirpygirl · 20/08/2007 16:23

I havea cuddie from brightsparks, and have had use of a coorie, I think they're FAB! but it's the one shoulder thing with them, it aches after about 20 minutes and I am constantly swapping sides, which is a pain!

Chirpygirl · 21/08/2007 18:48

Hmm, have just discovered tape measure (in bottom of DD's tub of bricks ) and I measure 71cm from shoulder to hip and 64ish to waist so I probably need a large. Having said that I had to measrue across my back as my bump means I measure about 3km across my front !

It is 63. Think large is the one.

Chirpygirl · 23/08/2007 13:17

Thanks for that, I think you may be right!
