Timpsons for replacement key?

Has anyone used Timpsons to get a replacement key for a car that has keyless entry and ignition? One of my car keys has fallen to bits (batteries on both have died so I've been using the actual key and the plastic round the metal bit has all snapped off) and I want to get it replaced.

The dealership have quoted me £125 and looking at Timpsons website they do replacement keys, but when I asked them about a new battery they said they couldn't do it because the key would probably need re-synced to the car. But I'm not sure if it would be different if they replace the whole key. I'd like to not pay as much as £125 if I can avoid it so wondered if anyone knew?

From memory your key will have to be coded to the car.
That is why the dealerships charge so much to do it.
