On a similar note to Posycals thread i am looking at buying at wooden train set and table for ds but there is much choice i dont know which one to got for. I decided on the Tesco one as biro and elc apperently fit on there too but now ive seen a train and table set in the Argos book and wondered what that one was like. Does anyone have the Argos wooden train set????? Looks exactly like all the others

Can't comment on tables, but the tracks are all exactly pretty much alike... meant to be competitors & compatible with Brio make. I think Tesco & Asda own makes both get highly rated. I did buy some cheaper quality track bits from a charity shop and a street market stall (the pegs fall out or the track doesn't fit so well with other makes), but Tesco quality is definitely very good. Argos is the same thing again and probably quite good quality. I think it works out cheaper to buy the track + Toby/Thomas trains from Argos than buying them separately from other sources.

The prices for genuine Brio are amazing!
Sometiems you can pick up good deals on Ebay, btw. But watch out, some Brio-type track items sell for more on there than they cost new.

Hi CP3,

I am thinking about getting my little girl the table and train set from Argos too. If you get it can you let me know what you think!

Thanx,

I haven't bought from Argos but did buy a wooden train set from Index and it was great. I have since added bits from Tesco's and a few other places. My only look out would be to try and get the pieces where the link circle isn't a peg stuck into the track but is an integrated part of the piece of wood iyswim - otherwise I found they did get pulled out eventually.
