Hi, Yorkiegirl - got back from sunny Bordeaux (to rainy Manchester!) this morning, had a fab long weekend with ggglimpopo and her lovely lovely family. Bordeaux is beautiful.

Now I am afraid I have some bad news for you - hardly know how to tell you when you were so thrilled when she posted - but after all that dd1 didn't manage to get your shorts . We both feel really bad about it.

She couldn't buy the ones she found in Boston because there wasn't enough credit left on her credit card. I paid some of it off for her so that she could buy them when she got to New York; she went looking for them again (knowing exactly what she was looking for now) and couldn't find any Champion ones - she said she found Wilson and Nike but no Champion. So she has come home without and feels very bad about it.

She knows you live in Leeds (from the Leeds meetup thread), and she will also be living in Leeds until next summer, so her first offer of atonement is to babysit for you if you would like her to - she has done it before and is very good with little ones.

Also, one of her US friends from summer camp is coming over here to university fairly soon (I think she said January) so if you haven't been able to get some before then she will get her to bring some.

Janh.

Did the digibox work!

JanH · 27/09/2004 18:24

I know, coddy, it's appalling, isn't it...my dear, the guilt when she confessed what had happened!

Oh, hi, kalex! I can see this is going to turn into "what I did on my holidays"!

We don't know yet, unfortunately. ggglimpopo's DH was employing an electrician in his company who had been doing all the wiring in their new (old) house and unfortunately this electrician flounced off in a strop when he was halfway through putting up the satellite dish (parabole in French if anyone's interested...) gggl's DH managed to get the dish up over the weekend but that was as far as he got. Will keep you posted!

fio2 · 27/09/2004 18:38

Janh hello i wondered where you were

JanH · 27/09/2004 18:41

Thank you, Yorkiegirl, she will feel better now (and so do I!)

You're right, she is in the dreaded Leeds 6! Although she's no longer at uni - she decided to stay on another year with some of her nice housemates who are still studying - she will have been 3 years in the same house by next summer. She'll be doing a temp job to help pay off the debt mountain until she either finds something permanent or starts a PGCE (and if she does that in Leeds she will be there for another year!). I will send you a CAT anyway.

JanH · 27/09/2004 18:42

Hi, fio! How are you? Has DS got any pants on today?

fio2 · 27/09/2004 18:43

NO! he wont wear any, he is a pain. I put some on him this morning and he has took them off himself and put his trousers back on wrong way round. he has been in back to front trousers ALL day!

JanH · 27/09/2004 18:47

Mmmm, I saw your thread...had you considered dungarees (back to front if necessary) or failing that a straitjacket?

I wonder why he has taken against them so violently? Has he had a traumatic accident with them?

fio2 · 27/09/2004 18:50

LOL

and no accidents in them, he reckons his dady doesnt wear pants. Dh will be impressed. he took him to the loo yesterday and then announced to a whole pub that daddys had 'had a wee'
