I did have a Chromebook until my husband spilt some water and failed to realise it had gone on the computer (which now doesn't turn on!)... grrr.

Don't want to spend loads. Ideally with Microsoft Office so can work from home.

What would you recommend?

Hi,

My brother understands computers/ laptops and this is the one he recommended for me:

www.argos.co.uk/product/2017541

I purchased it and it works really well. And it is on sale now. I paid full price!

This is a UK website. If you don't live in the UK try to look for something similar. Hope this helps.

Ems x

Don't give up on the chrome book yet. A very cool hairdryer aimed between the keys, leave it to dry out somewhere warm and well ventilated. If that fails then placed in a bag with that silica stuff used to absorb moisture in packaging.

I would be amazed if simple water did lasting damage. I work in IT and have seen all water spills saved like this.

It's the drinks with sugar in that are the fuckers

I'm in the market too and ao.com have a good value Acer in the BF sale. here
I wouldn't buy one without SSD. It's much faster, more stable than traditional.
