Emergency advice needed!

I was doing the household chores today and Dd was helping me put some washing in the machine. I turned my back for one minute to do something and she put my mobile phone in the washing machine. Two hours later I discovered my mobile phone damadged beyond repair!
Boo-hoo!

On a happier note dp has kindly said he will buy me a phone but I can't decide on which one to get!

I really like these three and wondered if any munsnetters had any opinions.

Nokia5100

Nokia 3200

Nokia 3220

Have to decide by tonight as I really need it for Saturday or Monday at v.latest!

Please help

I personally like these - I have the E700 at the minute which is brilliant but am upgrading to the E820 soon.

Thanx Spring chicken but I would really prefer a Nokia

Jf - just a thought - can you claim for it on your household insurance - maybe dh can buy it and they can re-imburse?

Hulababy · 23/09/2004 20:32

I have your second option - Nokia 3200. It's fine. Camera works well. Has big screen. Nokia - so easy to use IMO. Not changes cut out cover yet, although I do have the cutter (you send away for it - takes about 2 weeks to come), but you can do your own anyway. Ring tones that come free are a bit rubbish - but you can download others.

ps - like the look of the 3rd one!

Can't advise on the phone chioce but just thought I'd tell you all that recently my DH put his work trousers in the wash, whihc i then put on at 60 degrees... then he came in saying have you seen my mobile? Naturally it was in the machine, whihc had nearly finished the cycle by then, but once the phone dried out it worked fine again! I couldn't believe it!

It was a Nokia, nothing fancy just the freebie when he got the contract.

3 weeks later he left it in a cab

Cleaner washed and dried (!) dh's wallet some years ago and everything came out working just fine afterwards...even the magnetic strips on the credit cards.

I have the nokia 6230 and really like it.

I've lost count of the number of times dh has lost his down the loo. You'd think they'd learn.

SofiaAmes · 25/09/2004 22:36

dh has finally started wearing his around his neck on a strap.

codswallop · 25/09/2004 22:38

ive just bought a Motorola V600, dh has bought the V500. Both seem good phones but I too was tempted to stay with Nokia. Don't know if you're on contract but Orange shops are offering £50 if you take out a new contract with them and £50 for trade in so could end up not too badly off. FWIW I like the 6230
