Hi, I am considering getting the club class car seat, (only one so far that will fit my micra...) and have read the review on mumsnet..I am wondering if any of you feel that the buckle is particularly bad, from pictures it looks as if it is the same as all britax seats, but obviously I am concerned with the safety of my babe trying to undo it....
Also, has anyone seen the which report and if so, was this seat reviewed?
I have only see the what car report and this seat was not in it.....
Many thanks in advance!!
I am posting this in the products section too.....apologies if you have read it twice!

Marz, I used one of these until a month ago when I got a booster seat for ds, who is nearly 5. Do you mean the front fastening bit that straps the child into the car seat or the bit that fastens the seat to your car and seatbelt? If you're asking about the former it IS quite hard to undo and needs a bit of pressure so I felt it was safe. Ds never worked out how to do it anyway and didn't try even a month or two ago so it worked for me. Of course maybe he is incredibly lazy/dozy Haven't seen the Which report though. A very young child definitely wouldn't have the strength to undo it IMO.

Dear WWW......where did you get a name like that from??!!! Thankyou, I did mean the bit that straps the child in.....but I feel reassured to hear at least one person say that it is not easy to undo..!
Also, the fact that you used it for so long, the review said that the seat would not necessarily be big enough for a 4yr old. I feel much better about it now though..I think the review made me feel quite negative about it!
Thanks again anyway!

I've got one. The harness that holds the baby in is fine but IMO the clip the seat beat goes through is rubbish and doesn't secure the seat very well. It's sposed to hold fast with the right seat belt tension but even if you just rock it it comes open. I took it to Halfords even tho I didn't buy it there just to see if I had put it in properly and I had, but the guy who looked at it agreed it didn't seem very robust and that was the way it had been designed. All the offical reviews seem to rave about it tho...Am I missing something?

Marz
My dd had one before her recent booster seat (she is now 5) and found it excellent. She never undid the buckle (I don't think she could have).

Rara - I'm with you. We HATE our club class mainly for that reason. Luckily it is in dp's car and so not used daily. It is also very difficult to move from car to car for that reason.

I have a Priori Maxicosi (I think) in my Peugeot 206, and its great. Solid as a rock, and very easy to move from car to car. I only wish we had bought this first, when we bought the club class.

Another moan about the club class is that the strap cuts into my dd's legs now she is not in nappies. It is also difficult to tilt when she is asleep, I cannot do it because my hands are not strong enough.
