Where can I get a nice-looking (adult) waterproof coat?
lulupop · 22/09/2004 20:56
Related to the raincoat thread, where can I get one for me? I want one of those lightweight rainproof jackets that are quilted with a corduroy collar that Aquascutum and Burberry do, except I don't have the £300 or so that the designer ones cost! Anyone know where I can get one? Failing that, any other suggestions for a school-run-friendly raincoat that doesn't make me look like I;m off to scale a mountain?

There are some in La Redoute I've been researching the same thing!

are you talking about barbours? if you are you can get them here plenty of that sort on this site
Otherwise, I got a fantastic lightweight raincoat in the men's section of gap last year that cost £10! But then I'm not fashion conscious at all either....

ahem foxy! I like to think i am but hwen it rains - who cares
also by wearing a mountainerring one it makes you lok like you know wheta you are doing in case of emergency!!
foxinsocks · 24/09/2004 17:28
cod, I like to think I am but deep down, I know I'm not! Do you wear those green wellies - you know the type? Have vivid picture in my mind of you charging through the rain in your mountain jacket and boots ready for impending emergencies.

fox
I like to think of myself that way too.!
yes the boots are green. But only becasue dh got me them once
several people have commented upons my stylishness in said boots and they wernt taking hte piss! ( i did check carefully!)
I charge through the masses saying "make way"
and they clear like t he red sea

Hey Coddy, today I saw just the thing for the fashion conscious wellie-wearer: a pair of wedge heeled wellies (no, really) in Russell & Bromley.
will pop into Blacks tomorrow and have a look at the jackets.
codswallop · 24/09/2004 19:26
I would choose a really nice bright colour and dont get one with a fleecy inner then you can layer your own jumpers underneath
wedge wellies - now youre talking!
