Diesel or Petrol Kia Sportage help!

Hi just looking for a bit of advice as I am not very clued up on cars!!
So I have been driving a Kia Sportage Diesel for the last 3 years through contract hire, 3 years is up now and it's time to change.
I want to go for the same car but don't know whether to stick with diesel or get petrol this time?
I do 10,000 miles per year. Most of my driving is country roads, city, motorway couple of times a week

Thanks!!

Don’t buy diesel - you’ll never be able to sell it. It will cost a fortune to rung and will have difficulty with taxing within the next couple of years.

My dad who owns a garage is recommending people buy petrol cars only.

Does it cost a fortune to lease? We're looking for a Sportage but don't know whether to buy an older one or lease something newer.

Gorkymcporky it is £240 a month over 3 years. I absolutely love mine, no issues whatsoever, lovely to drive. Ordered the exact same one but went for petrol! I would highly recommend 😀
