Graco Expedition £89.99 (beware fixed front wheel though)
Cheapest Urban Detour £99.99
Maclaren MX3 or Fisher Price Trekker both £150

Meeely2 · 07/08/2007 11:15

ebay defo

MrsBadger · 07/08/2007 11:17

(NB prices I gave were from mainstream retailers eg mothercare and Argos - obviously they'll be cheaper elsewhere)

Bibis · 07/08/2007 11:18

car boot sales are often full of them

Miaou · 07/08/2007 11:20

I got one from Littlewoods for £99 - still going strong two years on

drosophila · 07/08/2007 11:20

How bad is a fixed wheel?

babywhiting · 07/08/2007 11:22

i've got an urban detour xtreme for sale!!!

lucykate · 07/08/2007 11:22

our 3 wheeler has a fixed wheel at the front. once you get used to it, its fine, no problems at all. in fact. i have a buggy, a loola, and the 3 wheeler is the one i use the most. ds goes in it for the school run every day.

MrsBadger · 07/08/2007 11:26

fixed is harder to steer in tight spaces eg round town and has a much bigger turning circle, though fine if only for long walks

def worth the extra £10 IMO

drosophila · 07/08/2007 11:30

Baby - How much and where are you?

drosophila · 07/08/2007 11:33

ANother question.....DD is 2.5 and the micralite has died. I love the Micralite except for the front wheels. A real design flaw. Anyway how long do you think I will need a buggy. SHe goes to a nursery about 20mins walk away for an adult.

TranquilaManana · 07/08/2007 12:11

fixed wheel is utter pain in arse on pavements etc. false economy there, in case you are wondering.

MrsPuddleduck · 07/08/2007 12:17

My parents have a mothercare urban detour which they want to get rid of. They also have the matching coseytoes and raincover. It is a sort of grey dogtooth check.

They bought it about three years ago when they used to look after DS1 for me on a Friday. But it is absolutely immaculate as they used it for less than a year. In fact it is still in the original box.

babywhiting · 07/08/2007 12:25

as my little boy is now 14 months and has a maclaren , and its time for it to go , no more dc for me for a while!!!! but its a great pushchair.

babywhiting · 07/08/2007 12:35

i can send you some piccies if you're interested!!!! will check back later!!!

drosophila · 07/08/2007 14:46

Baby I will think about it. Your comment about your ds being 18mths has made me think as dd is 30mths. Perhaps I should be looking for something a little smaller. I like the big wheels though - less rolling resistance.

Fimbo · 07/08/2007 14:52

I had the Graco Expedition and loved it. My ds will be 4 in December and he quite liked it too! You get used to the fixed wheel and it is simple to fold down and very very lightweight. A dream to push.

Dh managed (how I will never know) to break the handle on it and I have reverted to a normal stroller, which is pants in comparison.

babywhiting · 07/08/2007 17:44

hes only just 14 months but he is almost the same size as my nearly 4 year old son, yes hes very tall size 5 shoes too. got maclaren cos it was cheap.ok let me know thats no prob.
