Anyone had a Graco Stadium Duo? question about rear seat straps

anyone here used a Graco Stadium Duo tandem buggy? I've got one that was probably made around 2001-2003 (not exactly sure of precise date as I aquired it secondhand). It doesn't look too dated though. Anyway, I've got an almost 21mo daughter and nearly 5mo son and I've mostly used it as a travel system, with my baby in the carseat, so didn't pay too much attention to the rear seat. However, as he's getting bigger, I'd prefer him to be able to just ride in the seat so he can stretch out, but the straps are total rubbish, IMHO. What do others think? My little boy is by no means small (nearly 18lbs I'd think at almost 5mos) and he just slips down and the straps don't adjust properly. Another thing is that the straps come down from the very top of the seat and so just about run over his head, cut into his face, etc. Never seen such an awful strap harness set up!

So question being, is this a bad design of Graco? Is it only old designs that are like this, or do the new ones today still have such awful straps? I can't think it's just me thinking this way, but maybe!

Ideally, I think the Marco Sky buggies look really lovely (so nice & compact), but don't think I could persude husband it was a needed purchase at the prices they go for! Oh well, maybe someday!
