What car with 3 small children?

I'm expecting my 3rd, the other two will be 2 and 4.5 when this one arrives, so they're all in car seats. Which cars definitely fit three car seats? I was looking at the Ford C-Max the other day and the middle seat is narrower than a standard seat so I don't think that would fit 3 car seats.

Thanks!

We have a Zafira and it is fantastic. We have in the back a amxi cosi prior for 3.10yr old, britax freeway for 20mth old and britax eclipse[rear facing at the minute] for 7mth old.

im in the same boat, DD1 will be 3.4 in high back booster, DD2 in highback booster with integrated harness, and a baby seat.

Tried to fit all 3 seats in the back of my Rover today, but because the middle seat is just a lap belt, DD2's seat doesnt sit properly, and i wouldnt drive the car liek that.

Im looking at Citroen Berlingo Multispace's at the moment.

Jarm - we're looking at Citroen Berlingo too
(bl**dy clutch just gone on our mazda- and with number 3 due we want a proper 3 seater with good boot space)..
what do you reckon?
What sort of prices are they?
Seen any bargains anywhere?

JARM · 06/08/2007 22:50

unicorn - second hand ones start from £1800 which i think is pretty good going especially as they arent that "old" a car.

The boot space is the one thing swinging it for me, with 3 under 4 you can imagine the stuff we are going to need.

My best advice would be to check autotrader website and also ebay, but always check them out before bidding or commiting to buy.

Just need to wait for DH's money to come through, pay off the debts and see how much we have left to see if we can afford one.

Really, we are looking at a budget of under £2000 so something with 3 full seats, 3 full seat belts and a big boot for under £2k - and the Berlingo fits!

We have three in the back of our C-Max. We have had two C-Max now and they have both been excellent cars. When ds2 was a newborn we used a Britax Eclipse Si for dd (then 2.10) on the rear left seat. DS1 used a Britax Super Cruiser on the middle seat (age 4.9) and ds2 used a Britax rock-a-tot on the rear right. Now they are bigger they are in two hi-liners on the outer two seats and the Eclipse on the middle one. I had all the seats fitted by Mothercare and then double checked using Britax's fit finder on their website and they are all fine. HTH
