Has anyone got one of those floor mops that you use without a bucket? I think flash do them. If so are they any good?

get one from ndp - she loves mopping!

There was a thread about these a couple of months ago. General consensus IIRC was no!

I've got the flash one and while it is ok for a quick wipe around, it is extremely expensive to use. You ahve to buy the flash refil bottles and wipes which are hideously expensive. You could buy enough floor cleaner to last a year for the price of one bottle of refil and a pack of the wipes!

Just I have all tiled or wooden floors and mop & bucket drives me mad hence on here rather than doing it.

If you are going to get one look for the ones that you can refil. I think woolworths do one. If you can refil with ordinary floor cleaner then it would be much more economical.

I would also say, that while it is fine for a wipe over, it really doesn't clean the floor as well as a bucket and mop.

clairabelle have a look at the Vax Bubble. It washes and dries and does clean effectively.

Looks fab but do feel thta dh would tell me to get knotted and just mop the bl88dy floor for that price.

Well tell him it's either that or you're getting a cleaner! Those floor moppy things are useless - you can have ours - only used once!

roisin · 21/09/2004 10:28

Nope - they're useless. I have one, for ds2 to wave around if he wants to "be helpful", though occasionally it is useful for wiping up muddy footprints when I've JUST WASHED THE FLOOR . But for proper cleaning you need a proper mop. (The best mops are ones you can put the mop head in the washing machine to clean it.)

I have just had one delivered from Lakeland - it is called a spray and clean mop and you can put your own cleaning stuff in it.
I have not use it yet but will come back and let you know how I got on. First I have to drag myself away from MN though....

clairabelle · 21/09/2004 10:41

which ones can you put the mophead in the washing machine?
