their Super Tapes come in some fabulous colour combinations too - rose pink with gold lurex writing, anyone?

fedupwasherwoman · 02/08/2007 15:57

I've only sewn 3 in and I've already gone back and placed an order for some iron on ones

haggisaggis · 02/08/2007 15:59

www.wovenlabelsuk.com do good ones - and you can choose to have a motif as well as the name which looks quite cute.
Spent a happy couple of hours last night sewing them into ds's and dd's school things.

saythatagain · 02/08/2007 16:03

I bought some iron-on ones from Rawcliffes, which appears to be the Yorkshire equivalent of Cash's (perhaps?). They don't stay on too well, so I'm thinking of going down the sewn-in variety but feel it could be a waste of money a bit like washerwomen me thinks! Any top tips of how to keep the iron-on ones on iykwim!

Thanks for this thread, I had completely forgotten about ordering these. I was seriously tempted by the rose/lurex combo but in the end plumped for the traditional red and white. I might not be so glad I came across this thread come sewing night, mind

I know you were asking about sew in labels but I bought some excellent iron on ones which remained in place after a full school year of uniform washing! www.nameitlabels.co.uk. Highly recommend them. You can choose the style of writing, colour and even have a little icon on your labels! I also bought the stick on labels for drink bottles, lunchboxes, etc and again, stayed put even after many dishwasher washing.

I had cash's as a child. Totally flowery writing ones.

Don't mumsnet do a discount with a nametape company though?
here there's 10% off with easy2name

Dunno if they're any good as I have no DCs yet but I do love a bargain.
