I’m used to driving a RAV4 but hanker for an easy park small car and I think the mini looks lovely but I’m very aware that I haven’t owned a small car for years so I need to know the positive negative please

I don’t have one, but I wanted one for ages. I’ve recently been in the position to buy a new car, so I test drove two slightly different 5 door Minis.
I found the inside very cramped and the roof rather low, so now have gone for the new VW TCross. Small enough, handling wise, but spacious inside.

I hear you I think what I really want is a tardis on wheels

I have one and love it. I didn’t want the countryman and the 3 door was too small.

Make sure you get the boot which has two levels.

I have an automatic and it is fast!

I can’t think about anything much I don’t like about it tbh. It makes me smile every time I get in it.

If you can stretch to it, get the light grey leather interior- it makes the inside very bright and light. The black interior is a bit dark!

I have a countryman and I love it. We’ve just taken it camping for the week and it fits everything for a family of 3 ( including pregnant me ), the dog and there’s tons of room to spare.

I have a 5 door Mini Cooper SD and I bloody love it. It's small enough that you really get the benefit of the powerful engine but is big enough for two adults and a baby including car seat, pram etc.

I wouldn't recommend it if you will be giving lots of lifts or using the back seat for adults regularly as it can feel a bit cramped if anyone has long legs (DH and I are both on the tall side, he is 6' 4" and nobody can fit behind him easily).

Having said that, we have had this model for over a year and I still get excited about driving it. It's not the sensible choice but it's definitely the fun one!

Thanks everyone still think they’re lovely but think I may leave getting one till there’s less people to ferry about

I love everything about it, it's my dream car.

We have the clubman as we moved from a Ford Galaxy and still need boot space and room for 2 teenagers in the back sometimes.

Plenty of room in the back of the clubman, it's a good size.
