Menstrual cup smell?

So I've been using a menstrual cup for the first time this period. I've really got on with it, I can't feel it, never leaks etc. But this morning when I took it out I noticed a smell. It doesn't smell like period blood (like how a pad would smell) it smells kind of rubbery but really bad. I boiled it for a few minutes and the smell was just the same. I asked my friend who also uses a cup and she said hers never smells so now I'm worried it's something to do with me... Have any other menstrual cup users found a bad smell and if so how did you get rid of it? I have loved everything about the cup up to this point so it would be a shame to not be able to continue using it if I can't get past this...

Sterilising it with Milton will get rid of the smell.

What is the cup made from and where did you buy it? Apparently a lot of the cheap ones are not made of body safe silicon as they should be, none of my cups have ever smelt rubbery.

I got it from organicup... I think it's made of silicone

One of mine is an organicup, odd I've never had the smell!
