Hello
Been a mum for 5 years now and have 2 kids, somehow I have managed to avoid having even the remotest interest in Tupperware until today.
I don’t know where to start on this but I need it - Chinese takeaway containers are no longer cutting it and probably frowned upon in school lunch bags.

Any tips, advice on brands/styles sizes?? Please help me :-)

This thread is quite old now, so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but we’ve very recently refreshed our best food storage containers page with plenty of good quality options that have been tried, tested and loved by Mumsnetters. We hope you find it useful.

Hi spaceshiphaslanded,

I hope you dont mind me contacting you but I thought you might be interested in my new product, Neatwrap. Neatwrap is designed to carry and protect a wrap. Its BPA free, dishwasher safe and its adjustable so its suitable for small and large wraps. Neatwrap was developed by myself when 2 of my children started high school and lunches became expensive and unhealthy. We have been using them for 12 months now but I am only just bringing them to market. You can view a video at Neatwrap Facebook page.

Let me know what you think.

Rachel

Lock and Lock and Sistema have been my favourites for lunch boxes but at home I’m using more Pyrex with plastic lids to try to cut down on the amount of plastic I use.

I was just wondering today whether Tupperware as a brand still existed!

I bought some Sistema recently on offer in Tesco. It seems very popular and I like it so far

Rachelh999 Neatwrap looks good and I wish you luck! My kids won’t eat wraps though so not for me. Thanks!

Sistema are great for the screw lid pots but I have a few of the normal boxes and we've had them fail at the hinges. No problems so far with Lock and Lock (despite the hinges being made from the same piece of plastic so look to be intrinsically weaker than the Sistema ones!).
