Monitoring babies temperature

How do you monitor your babies temperature and how often?
Baby arrives in a few weeks so doing some research now.
We have heard that they can overheat if you swaddle them and we are unsure on how many clothes to put them in etc.
Any advice on temperature would be great! Smile

If their face is red and they are sweaty then they are too hot!

I never really monitored their temperature. I just dressed them appropriately for the weather.

My rule of thumb was one layer more than we were wearing. Take coat etc off when shopping indoors.

We had a groegg in room for temp.

As pp said, a guide is one more layer than you have on. If in doubt less is more. They will let you know if they are cold by crying. If they are too hot they get extra sleepy.
