Can anyone recommend a good but fairly cheap first carseat?

Hi,

Looking for a decent carseat which isn't too difficult to install. Want to spend less than £50 (possibly taking advantage of a sale or voucher!) recommendations would be useful as I don't have a clue where to start, they all sound so similar! I have a mondeo if that helps.

Thanks!

This is a rebadged Britax-made seat iirc

Thanks Lizs! I have just spotted this one on kiddicare too link

Sounds good beause it's sposed to last from birth to about 4 yrs old, it's rear and forward facing, and it reclines. I like the one you recommended though, it's more attractive!

Not come across on of those and would not be as portable tbh. If you visit someone else's house, doctors etc it can be useful to just take them out of the car in in a seat and have somewhere you can put them down safely.

hmmm, good point. Just noticed the one I found has no carrying handle. See? I'm useless! lol

The britax rock a tot is good about £60 from mothercare.
we went for it as it was at the cheaper end of the range and wanted to spend more on the next stage seat.

i ahve the mothercare rock a tot for ds3, tho he is now in the next stage, i will be using it again for baby no 4, it was great, and i got it half price in a sale

it did really well in the which reports and incidentally i discovered that it is actually made by maxi cosi, the only diff is the seat covering, it has the same clips etc and can be attached to a bugaboo using the correct adapters, as i have tried

I had a maxi cosi cabrio which was great with base. Just bought a jane travel system and the rebel pro carseat looks lovely much cooler fabric as in the maxi cosi baby used to get really sticky. Seem to be quite cheap on ebay at mo.My o too big for the carseat now so not actually tried it out properly...
