just wondered how long yours lasted, ours is falling by the wayside ie. bits are dropping off and dh has bouhgt a new one, I would have kept this one until it was on its last legs, it's only 6 1/2 years old....whats' the average life span of one of these things?

Our first one lasted about 5yrs (cheapo indesit). Second, a Bosch, lasted 13yrs and was replaced only when we had a new kitchen installed.
