Pushchair advice needed (yes I know it's been done thousands of times, but this time I need info!!!)

Hi. Yes, yet another thread from someone who wants reviews on certain makes of pushchairs.
I have a Loola and although I love it, I am finding it a bit hard to push now that dd is in forward facing and weighs 10 kilos.
I have been looking on ebay and decided that I like the look of the following pushchairs and wondered if anybody had one already and would give me some feedback.

Jane Nomad Pro
Jane Slalom Pro 3 wheeler
Silvercross S4 (3 wheeler)
Silvercross Cruiser

I am ideally looking for a light to push pram that I can get in and out of car easily and fairly quickly. I already have a Maclaren Volo and a Graco stroller but would like something a little more sturdier for winter time.
Any feedback or ideas of any other ones I could try would be very much appreciated.

Looking back, I wouldn't have sold my Infinity!!!!

the silvercross s4 is quite bulky though easy to push.

horsemadgal · 27/07/2007 20:06

I've had the Nomad and also the Powertrack which is older version of Slalom.
Both are fab and so easy to push, even with a 3 year old.

I preferred the Powertrack as it could cope with all terrains and was easier to wheel along when folder (ie. from house to car!!)

Nomad is smaller once folder though due to not having big front wheel, but same width. Depends on your car boot or storage room I guess.

divamumplusbump · 27/07/2007 20:41

i have slalom and love it. recently bought slalom pro for bump, as i loved it so much. never was maclaren person, cant stand maclaren types as i bought and sold couple.
defo recommend but depends on the boots size as mentioned below post. jane are suppose to be light weight although big, made of aliminium?[sp]
hth,

I loved my powertrack and looked forward to using it again, but ended up with a double nipper (twins)

sarahlou1uk · 28/07/2007 09:34

Thanks everyone. Size not a problem for car as I have an estate. Anyone else?

I will only be getting the pushchair part as I don't need the car seat.
Does the slalom pro fold with the seat unit on as the website doesn't show?

Yes it does sarahlou. Def go for the slalom if you have an estate, I'm sure you won't regret it. My SIL has one and I'm so jealous.

have you looked at the zooper boogie? i love it!

sarahlou1uk · 31/07/2007 21:52

I really want one that looks 'sturdy' now that winter is coming. I have enough summer buggies.
Have looked at Slalom and just can't afford it. There are some Nomads going on ebay for around £100 but am fancying either of the Silvercross's (sp?).
Anyone else got any suggestions?

nappyaddict · 31/07/2007 22:00

sarahlou1uk · 31/07/2007 22:16

nappyaddict · 31/07/2007 22:27

it comes in other colours too. go on here to see the colour range. what colour are you after? please don't say pink [puke]

onelittlelion · 01/08/2007 00:35

The nomad and slalom have the same seat units. The nomad is lighter and at the moment can still get the odd bargain. I have a Slalom as nomad doesn't fit in my boot and I love it. sold one and missed it so much bought another a wk later! They both have really nice comfy seats, easy non sleep disturbing recline and fantastic raincovers if buy the proper one.

sarahlou1uk · 02/08/2007 19:24

Just bought the Silvercross S4 from local pram shop. It was on offer as it was a 2006 model and they had just got the 2007 models in. Seems good but only time will tell
Thanks to you all for all the other suggestions.

If you like the Jane slalom then take a look at the Hauck I'coo platon 3 or 4 wheeler or the peak 3 or 4. They are very similar but have the option of turning the seat to face you and seem sturdier. I went through a lot of prams and this was my favourite. I have a lot of friends with jane prams and It would appear they have all had problems with durability when they get onto the second child.
They basically have a similar add on pram body/carseat type system as the janes and I found the handle adjustment and the really nice suspension made it easy to push. The handle goes really high too.
I have a well used 2004 Platon 3 and its fine I bought it second hand and there is plenty of life left in it.
