Boy's Christening outfit

I'm looking for a nice outfit for DS's christening. He'll be 6 months old. I'm not a fan of the satin romper/sailor suit look. I'm really after something a bit more contemporary and boyish but obviously special occasion-y and classy.

Does anyone know of any companies online or shops (I live in Yorks) which would have something I might like?

Hope someone can help

Monsoon do nice linen suits for baby's - jacket is cute with manderin collar.

I agree with soapbox, Monsoon do nice linen suits for boys - don't know whereabouts you are in Yorkshire, but I find that either the Monsoon in York or the one at Meadowhall have a better boys selection. HTH

I hit on a stroke of genius for ds's do (he was also 6 months). I asked his godmother to buy it for him as his gift. She chose the most gorgeous little check shirt and beige chinos. He looked an absolute prince - and it took pressure off me so that I could focus on things like cooking for 60 people!

fisil · 21/09/2004 10:46

btw I think she got them from Debenhams

Ds wore a lovely outfit from La Redoute for his christening and for dd christening ds wore some lovely linen Jasper conran trousers and a white grandad style shirt. Alibo where aboputs in Nott's are you as I'm from Notts as well. THere's loads of shops you could get a special outfit from. Let me know.

so woodpops, do you know of any nice clothes shops i could try?

woodpops · 22/09/2004 10:14

There's a nice designer shop in Arnold but went in last week all of the boys stuff is quite casual at the moment. I believe there's a shop in Newark but I'll have to get back to you on that one. Zara, Debanhams and Monsoon all do nice boys outfits and theres another desingner shop in Nott'm in the square up the side of Clarks. When is the christening as alot of boys stuff in the shops at the mo is heavy, thick winter stuff. I know there's loads more shops but at the mo I've got a mental block. Have you tried Meadow Hall??
