Can anyone hazzard a guess to how much it will be for a gasfitter to ....

stop the gas flow to the fire ands cap it off safely?

we have a gas fire and are fitting an electric one, once the gas is off and the pipes removed and safely capped off my DP can fit the electric fire,

just want to know a ballpark figure,

Not that much, certainly under £100. I had two old gas fires removed a few months ago, and whilst I can't break down the bill enough to give you a clear answer (what I paid for included all the fitting of new fireplaces), the job didn't take very long. Maybe around £50?

If everything is simple and takes an hour or less a maximum of £70.50.
