Would clothes for a 16 yr old fit me ????

Just wondering really, cos I have small feet and have just ordered some trainers from Next from the kids section, which got me wondering if the clothes would fit me.

I know most of it would be no good, but there are a few things in there that would do if they would fit.

I'm almost sure i ordered an age 15 skirt from them some time ago and it was too big.

Just has a quick look at the size charts in the Next book and the sizing for age 15/16 is similar to someone who is a 12 i think.

I am a 10-12 and 5'3

Anyone else buy kids clothes for them self ??

Yeah I have, the only problem is that since children I have widened just a little in the hips,(still only a 10) but my shape is now different to a 15 year olds. Also have a Gap hooded fleece in xxl child size but the sleeves are very slightly too short. In fact I must sell it.

It is definitely worth a try though.

All the time nutty.

Infact it's very hard to get shoes (am size 2) to fit otherwise

I used to wear 14 year old's jeans before i got pregnant too.

I always buy my shoes from Next kiddies. Alot better value. I just wish I could fit into the kids clothes. I think I'd need 2 pairs of 16yr old jeans (once for each bum cheek!!) I have a friend who buys next kids clothes but you have to be careful wioth the tops as the sleeves are very short!!!

Yep,I used to buy a lot of childrens clothes.I just had to watch the trouser/skirt lengths as I'm a bit lanky.Otherwise they were great.

I can't fit grownup socks , they flap at the ends of my size 3s.

Me too. Bought myself a lovely hooded cardi in Gap Kids yesterday in XXL. I think I must have short arms as the sleeves are a perfect length. I have to be really skinny to fit in their trousers though.

Yes, I do. Next kiddies clothes are so gorgeous. Im 5' 5" size 10. I find that I can often incorporate an item of kids wear into a particular "look" for myself. The larger kids sizes usually fit almost like "normal" clothes, but I find that, say, an "age 10" top can often work to give a fitted shrunken look, if its stretchy enough. As for the sleeves, if you go for a long sleeved one. the sleeves often work well as 3/4 length ones. I think anything smaller than age 10 would look stupid, but I have a couple of tops in that size that I wear often.
Anyone else tried anthing like this?

Quicksilver are quite roomie in the kids department. I get some sweatshirts and sweatpants for slobbing round. The size was an age 15 boys and they fitted a treat. I'm a 12-14. TK Maxx are good for that sort of stuff. Kids sports gear is usually a winner for your size.

Depends what make as well, and what style, but one of my fave skirts is a denim one from ASDA for a 13 year old. Cost me £8!

I just found that the sleeves were slightly too short on long sleeved tops and also they weren't long enough ie they stopped before my stomach and gaped slightly.
