baby bath support: which one is best?

theprecious · 23/07/2007 16:37

MN said I wouldn't need a baby bath, but my mum said I would, so I bought one. It's in the garden now - should have listened to mn!

Anyway bath supports look much better - which one do people like? Mothercare have a few, any that could be used in the bath, then baby moved out while I wash my hair?

I have one with a towelling thing on it from Tescos I think, it's like a wedge shape and is brill. Used it with both kids.

cece · 23/07/2007 16:39

I used the fabric ones that were a lttile slope for the baby to lie on - bu tonly suitable while they can't sit up.

Get a sponge. So much easier and soft. This is one from Mothercare but other shops do them

jellybellie · 23/07/2007 16:43

we used a white plastic one which was great - especially as dh has a bad back and I had a c-section - it was so much easier to have both hands free - v.easy to clean too (I was always a bit concerned about the sponge ones soaking up wee etc...)

NAB3 · 23/07/2007 16:44

Baby wee is quite inoffensive and sponges are easy to wash.

Seona1973 · 23/07/2007 19:38

I also had the plastic moulded one - it had a crotch bit to stop them sliding down into the water (which I found happened with the mesh ones). I never tried the sponge one.

MrsBadger · 23/07/2007 19:42

I love the one Malory posted
always imagine a baby the shape of the cutout in it, like a gingerbread man
I have the towelling one [rummages] thus

CarGirl · 23/07/2007 19:42

I had a plastic moulded one too - available from mothercare, I have tried a few other ones too. The plastic one revolutionised my life they are completely fab!

flowerybeanbag · 23/07/2007 19:43

we have plastic one from Mothercare, has been great so far. Liking the look of the sponge ones as well though, although not sure they would hold DS in place as well as the plastic one. It has suction pads for the bottom of the bath and holds him fairly firmly still so he can't go anywhere

snowwonder · 23/07/2007 19:43

i had the sponge one form mothercare, about £7.00, and i loved it thought it was great, worth every penny

CarGirl · 23/07/2007 19:44

with the others mine managed to roll over, wriggle down etc etc, the rigid one lasted until about 7-8 months old when they started to sit up by themselves.

DirtyGertiefromnumber30 · 23/07/2007 19:46

we had the plastic moulded one too. It would be in my Top Three things you need when you have a baby.

CarGirl · 23/07/2007 19:47

actually dirtygertie I think it's in mine too - I always rave to people about them at NT sales! Plus you can have the bath quite deep so the toddlers can share the bath easier.

theprecious · 24/07/2007 12:24

cool - thanks for those opinons. It's between the sponge one and the white rigid one. I want both! Damn

I've got the sponge one and the rigid one and they are both fab.Currently using the sponge one in the baby bath but when ds2 goes into the big bath,we'll dig the other one out.

kiskidee · 28/07/2007 06:56

fab, fab, fab was used in hospital too.

geordiemacminx · 28/07/2007 07:39

sponge one here.

Macdog · 28/07/2007 08:27

I vote for the fabric sloping one.
We used ours for ages.
Easy to wash the cover too

chipo · 30/07/2007 16:48

I was given this one and its great, now my friend with twins is using it and loves it too. It can be put in the washing machine too which is always a bonus.
