Ok, I currently have an Electrolux Premier cooker that is on its last legs...
Its a double oven with a glass hob type
Not particularly happy with it, not for it not doing its job, but I have had it less than 5 years and I would have expected a better life out of it.
So, I am looking
Any makes/models/suggestions? links if possible too

TIA

I like SMEG. They are really sturdy and cope well with whatever we chuck at it

SpookyMadMummy · 23/07/2007 13:15

oooh forgot about SMEG! I was thinking a Tricity or something like that, Have heard of them lasting 20 years or more!

Actually the smeg didn't cope to well when I hit it with a golf club but that's another story

SpookyMadMummy · 23/07/2007 13:54

Ah...my fault entirely.

I was starting to explore golf. DH's mate came round with a set of clubs.

I didn't realise just how well they are engineered to swing (yeah, like durrh!) or how long they are in total and while practising my grip I swung it in the kitchen and

Smash....straight through the front of a 80 cm glass door....oooops

We were covered for accidental damage (think we had the 'Household Looney' clause in the policy) and they paid for a new one. Ah well, it saved me from cleaning it out!

suzywong · 23/07/2007 14:04

lofra

bloody wonderful semi pro

grouchyoscar · 23/07/2007 14:15

Oh, they are so nice

I've stopped golfingnow so they should be safe

SpookyMadMummy · 23/07/2007 14:39

PMSL!
Can you come round and do that to mine so I can claim the insurance????

Not Smeg!!!
Neff are v good and I think Miele too make ovens. Anything German I would say, they are the best engineers (think Bosch/Miele/Siemans etc etc).
Hate our Smeg cooker - cant wait to move and leave it behind!

GroaningGameGirly · 23/07/2007 14:55

I've got a SMEG. Had it about 5 years and have mixed results with it. There appears to be a loose connection somewhere, so occasionally it turns itself off for no good reason and needs a good bang to get it going again. A pain in the arse if you've put a joint in prior to going out for a walk before lunch with friends, I can tell you. So I wouldn't have another. Previously had an AEG which was faberoony. Might well try Bosch next time (f there's ever a next time ...) just 'cos I like all my other Bosch appliances a lot.

I have a Diplomat range cooker at the moment (gas hob and electric double oven and grill) and it's fab but my best ever cooker/oven was a Neff one, which was amazing.

SpookyMadMummy · 23/07/2007 16:27

bumping for any more suggestions - hitting the electrical stores in a bit!

I am a bit of a Which? fanatic & always do the research for stuff like this (geek) and got a fabby ceramic top Zanussi from John Lewis; gorgeous.
