hi i was just wondering if anyone could suggest any back carriers which would be ideal to go shopping with mainly and also on walks and days out to places like the zoo. when i go shopping i plan on having dd1 (has sn) in the buggy and dd2 on my back. i've looked at the babyhawk mei tai and the ergo. anyone tried these or got any other suggestions? also where i'm i likely to find them second hand but in a good condition?

TIA

The Mei Tai is easier to put dd into. It is all round simpler than an ergo in my experience. I used to be a fan of ergo but now deffo a MT convert.

babyhawks are lush. I have a friend with a BH for sale. It has fuzzy fabric on the inside which is why i haven't bought it off her. For second hand MT join UKbabywearingSWAP lots of sling mad mums buy, sell and trade there.

The Ergo is fab, can't fault it, makes baby/toddler feel weightless (I carried 2yr old 34lbs on back for ages) Haven't tried a mei tai but the babyhawk is meant to be excellent.

Unfortunately you won't get a fantastic bargain on a 2nd hand Ergo - I paid around £50 for a 2nd hand one incl the newborn insert from another forum. Keep checking ebay...
