DD is 2 and 3 mths. She weighs 14.5 kg and is tall. Which type of car seat should I buy for my car?

That's about it really. I have a new little car and DD2 needs a car seat for it. She is was only 2 in April but weighs 14.5 kg and is tall enough for the seatbelt in a booster seat.

I am loathe to spend over £100 on a 5 point harness when she is so close to 15kg. ( I am a safety freak with car seats and always buy the most protection that I can afford) but she IS only 2.

Will she be safe in a full booster seat as long as she is tall and heavy enough or should I wait until she is 3 as well?

AHHHH, why is she not diddy like her big sister

they say to go by weight and height rather than age, if concerned there should be a guide on halfords site

My DD is 2.4, very tall and already 19kg(!)

We have had her in a high-back booster seat for a while now - Maxi-Cosi Rodi - which is fine.

BUT we used to have her in a Maxi-Cosi Priori XP which we would have loved to keep her in for longer if we could. The weight limit on it is 18kg so we had to stop using it - but I would recommend it for your DD, it is so much more comfortable for them when they fall asleep in the car. DD's head lolls about a bit in the Rodi.

I know it is expensive, but worth it I think!

If you want to save a bit of money, there are some seats that convert from five-point harness into a regular booster seat which uses the adult seatbelt - I think Britax does one?

Thanks. She has a priori in dad's car now and it's great. I think I might keep swapping it over for a few months and then go straight for the Rodi. I've just bought one of those for DD1. She loves it. I have tried DD2 in the Britax Evolva but she hates the internal headrest thing. I've tried a couple of times and always the same response. So I think I'll wait a month or so and see how it goes.
