e3 cocoon vs moses basket?

Want to be able to carry ds with me(keep out of reach of dd!) round house when he arrives. Cant carry pram up down stairs etc and want him to be able to lie flat (ie not in car seat)

Plan to use sling a lot but not all the time.

Is the E3 Cocoon suitable for this or should i get a moses basket? Also Moses baskets seem to say 'not suitable to carry baies in?'

Dont want to spend £100 on a carrycot that goes with a travel system.

Any suggestions?

Moses baskets don't have straps an
d aren't saftey tested to carry babies around in. It is something that everyone does, you just have to be careful.

I got my moses basket second hand with a stand for £15. I put the mattress inside new brushed cotton pillowcases instead of buying sheets

It was so useful - never regretted it. And the pillowcases are useful now for their proper function!

E3 cocoon is excellent for carrying baby around in house or at playgroup etc. Won't last that long though if you have a whopper baby

I used the cocuoon recently when DD arrived. She was actually in it for all sleeps untill she out grew it at 5 weeks. It was excellent for when she was tiny as you could wrap her up in it and she was all snuggley and cocooned! I bought a small matress from mamas and papas for it for £20 and it fitted perfectly.

I must say that it was also fab for keeping her with me but also away from DS.

Hope this helps.
