Bike seats that go in front?

Does anyone have one? What brand? Would you recommend or not? Can you use one in conjunction with one of the the other style behind or is it a case of either/or? Apart from a helmet, and making sure you're wearing hi-vis, what can you do to keep them as safe as possible while you ride?

Oh, and in your experience what age are they suitable until?

We had a WeRide front seat and a rear seat as well for a period (DD and DS2 18m apart). Used until 3 or 4 iirc but our kids are quite small for age.
