C-Max, Grand C-Max or S-Max

Currently have a 9 year old mondeo estate and thinking of upgrading to a newer ford C-Max, Grand C-Max or S-Max. Anybody got any pros, cons or opinions? We have 2 kids and not planning any more, but thought the extra seats would be good for ferrying friends etc. Thanks

If you want the extra seats, then it would be the Grand C-Max or S-Max. The regular C-Max only runs to 5 seats. The Grand C-Max will seat up to 7, but you wouldn't have any luggage space at all with all 7 seats up. If you want teenagers or adults in the back seats tha will take careful adjustments of the other seats to allow enough leg room.

The S-Max should have more room but I've never done a proper comparison.

I've had all 3. Agreed if you need 7 seats it has to be the grand but also agreed little boot space with all seats up. Think umbrella buggy size. I now have an s max and it's alot bigger by comparison. Wider seats, more leg room and more boot space. Hope this helps.

Cmax grand does have sliding doors. Only bad thing about the S max IMO. I would have an S over a C any day but wish they came with sliding doors too. If you have 2 and are using bulky car seats you may find the C a bit of a squeeze if you want to use any other seats as the middle is seat is smaller and the 2 back ones have very little leg room. I have 2 bulky child seats and you can fit an adult in the middle seat easily and 2 in the back. Still a squeeze though but not as much.

I have a c max grand and two rear facing car seats and love it there's still enough room for an adult in the back and for a passenger. The boot seats are just pop up seats. Great for a short lift but not much room but I love the flexibility it offers us

The Grand C-Max has sliding doors, the regular C-Max has normal doors. It's the easiest way to tell which is which. The sliding doors are very heavy and I was always a bit scared that my girls would catch a hand in a closing door. Touch wood, it hasn't happened yet.
