also if there is a deal whereby you get a ds plus a game, check which free game to get. I used my own initiative and got spectrobes which apparently was a Serious Error

big brain academy is good too

Oh god my son (7) is a girl - he loves animal crossing and nintendogs.

Brain Training and Big Brain Academy are both really good and a 7 year old would be able to do easy level stuff without a problem I should think.
