If you have three kids...

Need a car with three isofix as kids are 1,3 and 5.

We currently have an s max, but could do with a little
More room in the boot (both when third row down and up).

Think of:

VW Sharan

Volvo XC90

Audi Q7

Ref 2014-18 probably (ie not new). Any thoughts ? Anything else we should look at ?

Ford Galaxy?

If you are mostly happy with the S-Max, maybe a Multimac car seat? They are pricy, but cheaper than changing the car.

keepingbees · 01/04/2019 21:58

C4 Picasso?

GetRid · 01/04/2019 22:03

If you can afford the XC90 then get that. Safest car around - I would love one! Might be worth looking at the Galaxy too as the boot is v spacious.

NicksWife08 · 01/04/2019 22:14

The XC90 is a lovely vehicle and we'd have it if we could afford one. Same for the Q7. XC90 is I believe the safest car on the road, a long with a 2012 model of the Q7.
I have the Sharan, I do love it, the bonus it has over the others is the rear sliding doors! I didn't realise that life would become so much easier with sliding doors and children! The seat Alhambra is identical to the Sharan but at a much less price.

RandomMess · 01/04/2019 22:17

I'd say Alhambra for the sliding doors, you have a lot of years faffing with car seats yet!

We have a C4 Picasso with teens and it's fine.

Mercedes gl500

PotteringAlong · 01/04/2019 22:21

We sold our Picasso because I hated it Blush

We have a really old discovery 3 now and it’s perfect for us.

RandomMess · 01/04/2019 22:27

Would love a Discovery!

Newish Picasso is cheap and reliable (and boring)

YorkshireLawyer · 01/04/2019 22:28

We have a Peugeot 5008. Hardly any boot space with third row up but the boot is massive with the third row down and there are three separate seats each with isofix across the middle row so all three DC go across the middle.

BecauseYouAreWorthIt · 01/04/2019 22:29

Driving a Galaxy was like driving a van.

Janleverton · 01/04/2019 22:32

I have an smax but did have a spin in an xc90 and friends have them. Didn’t find the boot terribly roomy to be honest - seemed an awkward shape. Had a turning circle larger than the QE2’s and a pig to drive. V heavy handling.

RebeccaWrongDaily · 01/04/2019 22:34

We have an XC90- it's great.

Ooh thanks guys great feedback. After years of a Prius and being mistaken for a taxi driver DH has banned the Galaxy !!

Would love to hear from Discovery drivers. I had ruled it out as it didn't seem to be that much more roomy than the S Max and seemed to have mixed reviews in reliability.

Discovery! if you can use a spanner and a multi meter to fix it your self, if not don't. They have many issues and are expensive to repair. The very old ones are cheap to run and fix but rust badly, I feel the boots small too. I would look at at the van type stuff for plenty of room
