Fireguard - does it have to be hideous?

Are there any better looking fireguards out there if I am going to be stuck with one for the next couple of years.Ds likes eating coal!

We bought one from these people www.philipmorris.uk.com/prd.php?deptid=569. Note that some are open at the top and some are covered (see the second page of web page). The covered ones are safer, as children can't stick their hands down them.
