Introducing formula

Hiya all,

I had a baby in January who was 11 weeks premature. Due to him being premature, he strains quite a bit. He has been on EBM since birth and has been bottle fed since being able to feed orally, but over the last couple of days I have started to introduce formula as I am now running out of milk.

He is straining quite a bit more than he was, and also he keeps being a little sick after a feed.

Is this normal? Even for term babies when introducing formula?

Any advice would be fab!

Thanks

What makes you think you're running out of milk? You sure that's happening? There are ways to boost your supply

I have been expressing for the last few weeks. We tried breastfeeding him but my milk supply dropped lots so we I have been advised from hospital to start moving onto formula slowly, so at the minute he is having half and half, and then just eventually make it all formula over the next coming week or so
