you can do either, I used to stand mine in the bath and carefully wash it using the shower head. When it got really dirty one day (potty training!), I took the cover off and put it in the washing machine - came out fine.
you have probably already washed it by now...

TheBlonde · 10/07/2007 17:07

How do you get them off? Do you have to use a screwdriver?

tassis · 10/07/2007 21:18

good question...anyone know?

JET WASH the whole thing

amazing

bohemianbint · 10/07/2007 21:22

I washed mine in the washing machine. Pain in the ass getting it on and off though...

cameleon · 10/07/2007 21:54

yes thinking back, I think we did use a screwdriver thats probably why I washed it in the bath at first!

BettySpaghetti · 10/07/2007 21:57

I've washed our cover in the machine -looked fantastic afterwards.

From what I remember you have to undo some poppers and slide the cover off somehow. I don't think it was too difficult -certainly easier than trying to do it by hand whilst the covers still on

looks well and truly attached to us...

anyone else?

have downloaded the manual from the Maclaren site (here) and it says:
REMOVING AND REFITTING THE SEAT COVER
Remove hood from stroller if fitted.
A Twist shoulder strap end buckles and feed through holes.
B Feed waist and crotch straps through holes.
C Unclip seat cover retaining straps.
D Unfasten seat fabric from handle tubes and seat base.
E Slide fabric from seat back and base.
F When refitting seat fabric, insert seat back support tubes into fabric slits.
G When refitting seat fabric to seat base, loop fabric flap over legrest strap
and pass crotch strap buckle through both holes in seat fabric and then
hole in seat base.
H When refitting shoulder straps, twist buckles and feed through holes.

there are useful pics in the PDF too

Depends on how old the model you have is. I had an original Quest when ds1 was 2 (5 years ago) and the covers were screwed to the frame. The maclaren I have now (Techno Classic) can be washed in the machine quite easily and the covers are really easy to remove (as per MrsB's link).

BettySpaghetti · 11/07/2007 13:02

Ours is approx.2.5yrs old and the covers come off the way Mrs Badger described.

tassis · 11/07/2007 13:28

aaaargh...ours is 3 and a bit years old and the cover is screwed on...

i really liked the idea of bunging it in the machine

it's so clarty and yucky

(MrsB - told you i should just buy a new one!)
