Radiators?????? Burnt fingers!!!!!!!!!

9 month old DS been crawling for a month now and has just discovered the radiators. This is ok in this heatwave .
But when they get flashed up in the autumn he is going to burn his fingers. He seems to be touching the pipes and the valve bits. Anybody else had this problem? What can we do?

I have no solution but am in the same situation. Ds is 10m and has pulled all the plastic caps off the valves and he loves having a good old suck on the thermostat. I can't imagine guarding all the radiators and I'm not sure if he'll be too young to learn that they are hot and don't go near them. Or is it a case of leting him touch them, without burning himself obviously, so that he learns not to go near them. I'm interested in the replies.

I'm afraid it's a supervision thing and repeating "hot!" over and over again. It was one of the first things my ds understood last winter from 6-10mo.

By the time the heating has to go on you may find he has lost interest with it all! DS used to switch all the controls on on our Hi-Fi seperates (Shhh, don't tell DH ) but totally leaves them alone now - he's got other monkey business to attend to......

agree with karen99 although i think they do have to touch it at some point to understand what hot means.maybe you could turn the thermostat down so its not too hot.once they realise what it maens they learn fast!
