OK I know this is a slightly weird request. However, dh is over in UK next week and am thinking of asking him to bring one back for dd (as seen in ELC or JLP). Would anyone who has one, or a similar style from Argos etc, be able to tell me approximately how big it is boxed and a rough idea of the weight. I'm thinking probably folded travel cot size which would be ok on plane but would like to verify before sending him on a wild goose chase! I've only been able to find dimensions assembled and child weight limit so far.

Many thanks in advance

If I remember correctly (and if it is the same type as you refer to - not much help am I!!??) ours came packaged in a box a little smaller than a travel cot and lighter in weight. It came from John Lewis/Waitrose.

You might be able to e-mail them and establish they have the product in stock or check them out on-line.

Good luck. Ours needs replacing as eaten by local foxes............

if you mean a TP junior folding one (I just got one of these) - it's not as big or heavy boxed as I thought it would be - I haven't kept the box so can't check for sure but I would reckon on 1ft x 3ft and only a couple of inches in depth. Weight-wise maybe a couple of kilos. I thought the packaging was remarkably minimal for a change. I don't have a travel cot so can't compare to that, but I'm sure it would be check-in-able.

Thanks for your responses. It does sound possible then. Might email JLP and get one put on hold !

Don't know about packed up size, but can thoroughly recommend it as a toy. Ours came to us secondhand and was a fair age then - they last forever despite numerous children bouncing on them!

Don't know if we were just unlucky but I bought a TP one last September - hardly used it and the mat tore through last month - ds is 3 and ds1. I was thinking of complaining.

We had one from argos for about £25 5 years ago and have left it out every night since we had it. Only last week did the elastic snap on it, just in time for a new one for DS! Pretty good considering I thought?

Stripey - do complain - the people at TP are v helpful and want you to be happy with their prouct! It should have come with a years guarantee anyway. We bought our TP climbing frame from John Lewis and put it up for ds1 on the lower height. When we went to raise it to it's full height last year - nearly three years after buying it, one of the pieces was faulty. We contacted JL who got on to TP for us and the new part was with us in days! No hassle despite being out of guarantee. I would definately try IIWY.

B*er. Both JLP and Elc in Debenhams Oxford Street will only order it for home delivery. .

you could try www.outdoortoysdirect.co.uk - don't know about delivery options but you can leave a message through their website for one of their sales advisors HTH

Thanks LMB but unfortunately dh is only in London for 24 hours so had hoped to just collect from a store. Might have to see if PILs will bring one on their next visit. (btw they are £15 more on that site too so I guess you pay for "free" delivery !)

Just to report back. PIL's ordered one from JLP which arrived in just 2 or 3 days. They brought it over (box was about 1m x 40cm x 10cm, weight around 6kg) and both kids love it. We have it in our playroom and ds looks at his times tables while he bounces ! btw we got the Folding TP one with handle and it looks as if it would fold away quite flat.
