DD has a fab Clarks pink pair too, and we bought a suede block to clean them with. It's like a rubber that you use and it takes a little of the suede off - or that's what it feels like - to reveal pretty clean pink suede agin. You can buy them from the shoe shop...

You can certainly rub the lightly with sandpaper that will clean them up, still trying to think where I've seen cream. Somewhere like a habadashery or big dept store.

Yup, just found it. It's called a Clarks cleaning block, for suede and nubuck. Directions for use are:

"Rub the area to be cleaned lightly and carefully with the cleaning block. To remove crumbs and raise the nap use a soft clean brush. Repeat the process for more stubborn marks."

CAUTION
"This suede and nubuck cleaning block must be used gently. Avoid heavy or prolonged rubbing" (!)

Hope this helps at all.

DD's first shoes were a practical pale pink nubuck. We used a suede/nubuck shampoo - fantastic results and very quick and easy, spray it on, it foams up and then rub with a cloth. Shoe shop advised against the block as it's easy to damage the suede. HTH.
