Dh is 'thinning'

So he shaves his head. We go to Spain soon. His scalp will burn i can see it coming. He does not want to wera hat all the time as he says he wants to get a brown head

Shall I just put ds's sun cream on his head?

Sun tan lotion is what DH uses.

crispyduck · 05/07/2007 21:21

I would buy a high spf sray rather than a cream.

crispyduck · 05/07/2007 21:22

spray sorry

WigWamBam · 05/07/2007 21:22

I make dh put suncream on his, otherwise he burns really badly.

Exerience of dh's baldness suggests that your dh won't get a brown head; he will get a bright red, sore head unless he uses suncream.

DrNortherner · 05/07/2007 21:28

That's what I thought www. But dh has medditeranean blood and only has to look at teh sun and he is bronzed adonis.

Sigh.

Baby sun cream here. Works well on pink/ginger head of dp.

WigWamBam · 05/07/2007 21:39

The skin on the head doesn't react to the sun in the same way as that elsewhere though. Dh's doesn't, anyway - it seems slightly oilier and slightly thinner, and he burns far more badly there than anywhere else.

It's also much more exposed as it won't be covered up in the same way as most of the rest of him will be - he won't always be bare-backed or bare-chested, for example, but he will always be bare-headed.

Just tell him that the bronze Adonis look doesn't work so well when there's a bright red flashing beacon at the top ...

lizziemun · 05/07/2007 21:49

DH does this Factor 50 ot higher if you can find it and a hat.

Mind you although his hair is black he has very fair skin so he does tend to burn as soon as he see daylight.

EarlSinclair · 05/07/2007 21:50

condoms

Skribble · 05/07/2007 22:24

Soltan hair and scalp spray.

Reinmann is also popular with my foilicly challanged freinds who work out doors. Get it in supermarkets and even Matalan.

bozza · 05/07/2007 22:31

I think spraying it with sun lotion is the best option. My DH has no 1 all over and has oval tan mark on back of his head from wearing a baseball cap.

moondog · 05/07/2007 22:32

'men'???
How many have you each got for Chrissakes???!

bozza · 05/07/2007 22:33

Why are you jealous moondog?

moondog · 05/07/2007 22:34

In a word,yes.

I notice even Alan Johnston dealt with that monk look beofre owt else.
Much better shaved eh?

FrannyandZooey · 05/07/2007 22:37

A hat

until recently a fkn sad bucket beanie hat

now a rather jaunty Orton-esque peaked cap bought by me

moondog · 05/07/2007 22:46

tHAT ORTON LOOK CAN GO EITHER WEAY THOUGH fRANNY.
bE CAREFUL....

bozza · 05/07/2007 23:05

Tell any baseball cap wearing DHs to beware of the oval on the back of the head syndrome.

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2007 08:02

do you reckon Moondog? It's working for me... (mind you comparison with the Beanie of Sadness is going to make any new hat look good, frankly)

moondog · 06/07/2007 08:06

If it works for you Franny.......
Mind you, my dh has taken to wearing masd floppy thing in masnner of enthusiastic VSO biologist, but as he is in 40 C heat )Tajikistan ) and i don't have to see it,have no grouds for complaint.

moondog · 06/07/2007 08:06

Just that 'jaunty' folk or clothes often incite irrational violence.

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2007 08:26

Ah no, dp has this very friendly harmless vibe going on

he is the type always chosen by children's entertainers / comedians to come up on stage and help out, for instance

notably yesterday had to sing twinkle twinkle little star to lareg audience while wearing mohican wig

moondog · 06/07/2007 08:35

lol
Bless him,he sounds delightful
My dh is that sort.
Gawd knows how he ended up with such a sneery cynical spouse.
He is too good for me.

FrannyandZooey · 06/07/2007 08:35

ah well I expect he will struggle on bravely
