hwlp me get money back on mp3 player which i got for xmas and now is dead

it wont even charge or switch on now.

currys say they cant do a thing without reciept.

what can i do? it was an xmas present.

who bought it for you? you could see if it is on their credit card statement?

Might want to google consumer rights but Im sure that if something is faulty you dont need a receipt, unless you want a refund, they should do an exchange without one. Otherwise I would try a different store that sells same product and try your luck (or is that a bit dishonest) . This sort of thing winds me up not as if it comes out of the shop assistants salary is it.
