we are test driving one on sunday I really like the look of it just hopes it's as practical as it sounds given that I have not lived up to my name

Just wanted to find out if you went for the FRV ConnorTraceptive. It seems great, but we would have it at full capacity a lot of the time and I wonder if that will be too cosy. The ones I see only ever have a few people in them, so I wonder what its really like if its full all the time.

Have you read the review on Parker's mung? It was enough to put us off bothering to look at it in the end.

Mung · 20/01/2010 14:44

Thanks cantsleepwontsleep that is what I suspected. Just out of interest...what did you go for in the end? Our other option is the Galaxy.

We've only just started looking mung (I'm not connor), but the thread title stood out because we'd considered this one recently.
We looked at the Galaxy too, and whilst quite practical, it's not very 'us', so we are on the lookout for a used Land Rover Discovery at the moment.

I just thought I'd add that I quizzed a woman in the library the other day after seeing her get out of an FRV. She was really positive about it, saying that she often has it all full capacity with her 4 children (2 teenagers, 2 toddlers) and gets the luggage in the boot. She felt it had a lot of boot space, but I suppose thats all relative to what you had before. I have an estate car, so I am scared of not having enough boot space in the FRV. She used to have a Zafira, so misses the 7th seat, but feels it was fine for a holiday.
I can't see me getting my camping gear in, but I'd have to just get a trailer for those few holidays a year where we go camping.

a friend of mine has one,she used to have a zafira and thinks her FRV is much better. she has 4 kids and used to have to put one in the back, she now has him in the front beside her and her husband and says its MUCH better on long journeys and he feels more like part of the family instead of being stuck in the boot.

Thanks sazm ... thats really interesting to hear. I am much more tempted now. Do you know how they manage with the boot space for holidays and what they can realistically fit in?
