Anglian Windows - are they that bad?

We've had a quote from Anglian for new windows which seems reasonable. We are due to let them know tomorrow whether we want to go ahead or not.

I've just searched the archives and found a couple of threads from people who've had problems with Anglian, so, were the op's just unlucky or are Anglian generally crap?

TIA.

I have just had Anglian redo my windows and doors, (council refit) On the whole they were ok, cleared up after themselves etc.
The advice I would give is check the class thoroughly, one of my bedroom windows had a 4 inch scratch in it right in the middle of the pane and it took them 3 phonecalls and a fortnight later to replace it.
My windows are good, they eliminate alot of outside noise and the doors are ok too

Thanks for that. We're struggling to decide what to do, people tend to report bad experiences more readily than good iyswim so we're finding it hard to work out whether Anglian are any better or worse than any other company.

We had our doors and windows done last winter with them and no complaints. My parents did too and had a problem a while after with a window seal. The after-sales care was very good and the problem solved very quickly.

Had a really bad experience with anglian. They replaced our back door a few years ago - knocked loads of plaster of the kitchen wall, door didn't shut properly ... Also had 2 windows fitted with secondary glazing - had to get them back to sort out numerous problems. They are a nightmare to pin down and when they do come they usually say "Oh it's a 2 man job. We'll phone you with a new date" .... of course they never do. Our expereince of their after care is that it's crap. They have a 10 year guarantee, but have had them out twice for both windows and twice for the back door. There are still problems, but just can't be bothered anymore.

Don't touch them with a barge pole!!
