Hi all

36 weeks with first baby. My MIL has bought a huge amount of baby bathing products including talc and oil. Do any of you regularly use these? I'm incredibly grateful for the gift but I'm not sure whether to use them, especially the talc.

No I didn't use either of them

You need to report this post and asked for it to be moved to "pregnancy" topic.

Baby oil is useful for cleaning chrome.
Talc has been linked to asthma,

Babies just need water.

I didn't use either, tried baby oil once (had a mini bottle in a burts bees baby selection) it just seemed messy and not needed. Talc I'd heard it can be bad for babies and I was never sure what you were meant to do with it anyway so didn't even have any.

Talc has been kinda useful as a toddler to help get sand off of wet feet at the beach, it dries the sand and makes it easier to brush off. Not much easier mind you but a bit. So might be worth keeping it for that?

Isn't talc really bad for them, I know they were saying this with ds2 and he's 24.

Talc is bad for baby girls espesially. I wouldnt use it. But there is other uses for it. Use it as dry shampoo or to mop up oil spills etc
