Were currently decideding on which car seat to buy - we're really interseted in the mamas and papas vaiggio but wondered how easy the base is to attach to the car, as it wouldn't be any every day fixture as nither of us drive????

Also can you carry the carseat still attached to the base????

We have one, a couple of years old now so dont know if anything has changed. Its really easy to fit the base to the car, just thread the seat belt through the holes, takes seconds. Never tried to carry it though with the base on, they are quite heavy awkward things to carry, I think this is the same with all these type of car seats and think it will make it more heavy/awkward with the base. I found it invaluable, great not to have to disturb a sleeping baby when moving from a car seat to a pushchair, but then I drive, live in a village so have to drive everywhere.

i've got one, basically cos it goes in the pram. hard to carry with the autobase on adn would look a bit daft as well. I personally don't like it as I don't feel it's safe in the car- even though I know it is but the lap seat belt threads through 2 bits adn then you put the car seat on and pull the handle down and put the belt around the back of the chair- in the beginning i found it dead easy to forget something. if you haven't got a car why don't you get one of the ones from halfords or toys r us that can be used as a seat in the house as well. they're about £30 (on Sale in toysrus at mo) compared to a lot more for the mamas and papas
