iota · 01/09/2004 12:48

what is a poi?

codswallop · 01/09/2004 12:48

prrof of identity
in case of reception imposters!
lol

AuntyQuated · 01/09/2004 12:48

no where exciting... i think poi is a national requirement now, all to do with nursery vouchers etc

maybe it's an authority thing as there are many asylum seekers here

codswallop · 01/09/2004 12:49

ah! i see! well fair enough

iota · 01/09/2004 12:49

certainly wasn't necessary last yr when ds1 was in Reception

codswallop · 01/09/2004 12:50

its is a funny thought though
4 year old in disguise!

AuntyQuated · 01/09/2004 12:52

in our authority it has been required for quite some time. i taught in the nursery before i had dd, she's 8, and we used to ask for it. and you would be amazed; some sad cases too where desperate mums would try and get them in earlier as they couldn't cope

DD1 started school 18 years ago and we had to take her birth cert in. Proves child is right age apart from anything else. (How many of us don't sometimes feel we would like to smuggle one in a bit early...?)

I wish I'd managed to pop ds2 out a few days earlier - he is 3 on Saturday - perhaps I could smuggle him into Reception next yr (he already tries to stay in ds1's class)
