Anyone know what the stuff you add to bath water turning it to jelly is called?

Saw an add for it today. You add this powder to bath water or paddling pools and it turns into a brightly coloured jelly type stuff. Looks so much fun!

It's the real american Jell-O, you need a few packs for a paddling pool, downside is that you also need a cool wave and it will leave you all sticky. But taste is good (if you dear to try it!)

only joking... of course.

Gelli Baff. Saw it in Toys 'R' Us.
Made me laugh as it says on the box 'Will not dry out skin' Then at the bottom 'We recommend the use of moisturiser afterwards'
And I don't trust anything that says 'Will not stain'. Guaranteed to IME.

ooh looks all slimey, kids will love it but I eeeeeww

purplepop · 23/06/2007 19:56

Sounds like one my dc would love but not me. God, they make enough mess at bathtime as it is!

lulumama · 23/06/2007 19:59

its called 'absolutely revolting' !

Curmudgeonlett · 23/06/2007 20:02

get it from hawkins bazaar .. its only about £5

purplepop · 23/06/2007 20:02

I know. It seems so wrong but actually I love the sound if it and I have THE most disucsuing blue bath and carpet so not worried about the mess. Am slightly concerned that it may stain the kids though!

ROFL. Have images of blue and green stained children going to school after a sunday night bath!!

purplepop · 23/06/2007 20:05

Thanks curmudgeonlett, was about to get it from their site for double the price. Maybe I should go for the school colours so they match their unform!

well ds (6) loved it (was orange) .. DD didn't (3) but watched happily

it does dissolve .. supposedly if you have a septic tank it can clog it according to another thread so I'd be careful if not on the mains

after the bath I just showered them properly .. I'd use it as a play thing not as a bath time

it doesn't stain .. at least it didn't

Curmudgeonlett · 23/06/2007 20:08

here £4.99

they have stores as well for no P&P

but I bet you shop round the site and end up spending a fortune .. I love Hawkins' knick-knacks
