mutsy double buggy seat

i have the mutsy urban rider chassis and single seat unit. i am now expecting my 2nd baby and will need a 2 seater. i'd always intended to buy the 2 seat unit for this chassis, but just wondered if anyone has any experience of whether it's good or bad. the new baby arrives in october, by which time my daughter will be 15 months, so too young to use a buggy board with the one seater. anyone any thoughts please???

I bought this pushchair and sold my quinny just before I had ds. Dd was 19 months at the time and sat quite happily in the front, (she looked quite uncomfortable when she fell alseep once in it as it doesn't recline) he was great in the back but needed a newborn footmuff as the seat is quite exposed for a tiny baby.

Access is quite a challenge for the rear seat as you have to put the baby in kind of head first, and then remove them feet first.

It is an excellent seat but I struggle to put it into the boot of my car and have to take it apart. I mainly use it for walking and use a double maclaren for the shops.

would the non-recline thing be an issue with all tandem buggies though? ditto the difficulty getting them in and out? everyone bangs on about phil and teds but i remember reading a review where the reviewer said her young baby ended up covered in muck because he was so close to the round, which doesn't sound good.

we also have a small car and the chassis only fits in when i take off the fat wheels, but i guess any double will be the same in a clio?? definitely can't go down the 'having 2' route as in addition to a small car, we also only have a little house!

The graco tandem buggy has a two position front seat if this is an important issue.

how long does the wedge thing last?

I have loved the double seat for the mutsy, and the not reclining hasn't effected my little one at all, also once youve mastered getting the baby in the cocoon is really snug and cosy! I am still using the cocoon and my baby is 7months old, it is big when folded though, so I tended to put the baby in a sling when I needed boot space! and had the older one in the single seat, but as I said I think its really good! (and its my third double!)

wallis - how much longer do you think it will fit for?

booboobunny - no idea about the mutsy but was looking at it for myself at one point

Just to let you know I have got a Graco tandem and a M&P Twin Aria in the boot of a Clio no problem (no room for anything else though)

probably, another couple of months, but hes not a huge baby!
